How To Check Your Engine Oil:

Hi and welcome to Hit The Road in this series I am going to be showing you how to check things with your car like engine oil, screenwash, tires, and the list goes on.

Did you know this will be the site of the first nuclear fusion power plant? The construction will start in the early 2030s and it will produce power around 2040.

It produces zero greenhouse gasses and no waste products its only by-product is helium a nontoxic gas.

So, coming back to what we're hear for.

So, to begin we need to find the hood/bonnet release leaver to open the hood/bonnet and once we have pulled it, we need to open it. After we have opened it, we need to find the oil dipstick on the engine once we have found that we can pull it out slowly, so we don’t drip any oil onto the engine or other components. After we have done that we need to wipe the oil dipstick clean with a cloth and then insert it back into the engine and then take it out again and it should be between the minimum and maximum mark if it’s not you will need to top up the engine oil with the correct oil for your engine. For example, for my Honda Civic, it requires 5w.30. you can buy it from pretty much anywhere.  But don’t overfill the oil as this could do damage to your engine But if you don’t feel confident to fill it, I would seek a mechanic for advice as you don’t want to damage your pride and joy!
